Administrative Assistant
Performs administrative duties for the department including general clerical, receptionist and project based work, to act as a liaison between the patients, attending Physicians, House staff, Administration and various hospital personnel. Provide administrative support to a department and/or Manager.
* Answer telephone and handling calls within department /hospital protocol. .
* Implement the activities of the department on a daily basis. Responds to the daily needs of the
staff, various other Hospital departments and affiliate institutions.
* Serves as a liaison between the departmental staff, affiliate institutions and Hospital
departments.
* Serves as a liaison between the departmental staff and outside patients and vendors.
* Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: word processing, photocopying,
faxing, mailing, and filing.
* Maintian Neurosurgery records.
* Project a professional image through in-person and phone interaction. Fielding telephone calls
and handle callers or transfer to appropriate staff member.
* Schedule outpatients for the neurosurgery clinic within the schedule guidelines.
* Maintaining department database and electronic filing system for the neurosurgery department.
* Maintaining all files and records concerning all regulatory matters.
* Create presentations for meetings and events.
* Sorts and distributes incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail.
Requirements:
* This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a
minimum of 3 years job-related experience.
* The ability to type 50 wpm.
* Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Powerpoint
* Professional verbal and written communication skills
* Computer and data entry skills.
* Desired (not required) criteria include: Fluent in Spanish
