ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - Buying Sport Chalet has been a leader in the specialty sporting goods arena for over 50 years. In an effort to support our store-level teams, we are seeking friendly individuals who live an active lifestyle to join our retail sales division. Our dynamic team strives to enhance the customers shopping experience, and is driven not to be the biggest, but the BEST. BRIEF: The position assists with buying related processes and functions such as but not limited to: Data Entry Item and PO creation and maintenance Collecting Internet content from vendor websites Administrative support for Buying Staff and Project & Communication Supervisor OVERVIEW: The Administrative Assistant for the buying division provides administrative support to buying team in a fast-paced corporate environment. The focus is on accurate data entry while creating and maintaining vendor files, stock keeping units (SKU), purchase orders and price change entries. This position will also require attention to collecting internet content and special projects that may be unrelated to the duties described above. The position reports directly to the Project and Communications Supervisor in the Merchandising/Buying Division. Interaction with merchandise executives, buyers, and assistants will be frequent. This position will require occasional contact with vendors, stores and other departments should questions arise. Excellent attendance is essential to success in this position. SKILLS: The candidate selected for this position must be able to face the demands of a high volume, fast-paced buying division within a growing company. The ability to focus in a high traffic area while accurately inputting data in various programs is essential. Effectively communicating in both written and verbal form will be important in this position. Being detail oriented while having a strong organizational background will ensure success in prioritizing and meeting deadlines. Your experience with MS Office with an emphasis on Excel will allow accurate data management. A considerate, pleasant demeanor along with experience successfully working with various personalities is crucial in this position. This position will be Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM with additional hours as necessary.
