Administrative Assistant
Provides a variety of administrative and staff supports to enhance the efficiency of the department which requires a range of skills and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Serves as liaison with other departments in the Agency in the resolution of day-to-day administrative responsibilities. Understands both the formal and informal Agency and departmental goals, standards, policies and procedures which will include some familiarity of other departments within the Agency; is sensitive to the interrelationship of both people and functions within the department and Agency.
Performs administrative support duties such as establishes, maintains, and updates files, databases, records, and/or other documents; develops and maintains data, and performs routine analyses in the processing of data for recurring internal reports. Composes, edits and proofreads correspondence and reports from verbal direction, or from knowledge of established department/agency policies. Assists with the preparation of scheduled or unscheduled statistical and narrative reports; performs basic information gathering and analysis, as specifically directed. Assists in problem solving, project planning, and development and execution of stated goals and objectives. Routine assists with front desk. May include travel to Agency programs.
Exercises sound administrative judgment in the setting of priorities and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, costs, and/or quality of service within the Agency and department. Assists in the resolution and/or referral of a range of administrative inquiries. Exchanges routine and non-routine information using tact and sensitivity as appropriate requiring good oral and written communication skills.
Requirements:Associates Degree and two years experience required; Bachelors Degree from a four year college or university preferred. Experience in the non-for-profit and disability fields may be substituted for education.
Must be proficient in the utilization of various computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint.
Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision and exercise sound administrative judgment. Must possess an exceptional work ethic, and maintain high ethical standards with an ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
