Summary
This position is responsible for:
Directing the strategy and operations of the auto line of business product with the focus on analytical/MI development
Directly managing staff responsible for operations including (MI development, competitive intelligence, trending, assessments, audit and compliance, SOX compliance)
Documenting multiple solutions to recommend and lead implementation of improvements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Claim Strategy:
For the auto line of business initiatives develop and direct strategies and business plans for product, program or functional development/ enhancements, design, system development, management of vendors, policies and procedures, customer service and claim technical support.
Identify new improvement opportunities, and understand and assess barriers to success.
Develop and implement short and long term strategies to address improvement opportunities and drive results.
Claim Practices & Field Support:
Proactively stay abreast of industry, developments, changing trends and jurisdictional issues. Direct industry analysis and benchmarking studies.
Partner with field management, Claim Finance and Claim MI to develop and execute a financial management and control strategy to limit financial risk associated with claim costs.
Business Process, Workflow and Technology:
Manage the investigation of new technology and the application for improving business process and increasing productivity
Manage competitive analyses and benchmarking studies.
Business Partner Support:
Build and maintain strong partnerships with Underwriting, Product Management, Marketing, and Actuarial to drive business results.
Leadership:
Develop team goals and drive strategies to meet business objectives.
Manage and develop staff.
Education / Work Experience
College degree and 6+ years related claim, management and/or insurance experience. Advanced knowledge of claim business, processes and systems.
Broad financial management and analysis skills.
Demonstrated experience to manage multiple projects
Minimum 2 years managing others
Prior claims experience desired but not required
Experience working with outsource resources is helpful but not required
