Employer: CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - CALTRANS Job Description: Under the supervision of a Data Processing Manager II, the incumbent will serve at the entry or first journey level as a technical resource for computer desktop support for local and remote sites within District 5. In this capacity, the incumbent responds to service desk requests for acquisition, setup, maintenance, repair and upgrade of desktops and laptop devices, peripheral equipment and software located locally and in the field. Assist the IT Branch in providing setup and analyses to check and maintain the performance of network connections and network equipment at remote facilities. If travel is performed in a state vehicle, a valid class C drivers license is required. Desirable Qualifications: A general knowledge of networks, WAN, LAN, Internet, Intranet & remote dial up access technologies is required. Experience at an IT Service Desk and Desktop support a plus.
