Prominent Great Neck family seeks an experienced Estate Manager. The successful candidate will have at least seven years experience managing fine homes and be adept at supervising domestic staff. This individual will also have complete oversight for estate budgets, service levels, systems, procedures, protocols, and maintenance. Responsibilities include:
Supervising of daily activities with the household staff
Coordinating/assisting with the operation of multiple residences (special events including set-up, service, and post event follow through)
Maintaining all household calendars and providing prior notification to the family and staff of the scheduling of events and estate maintenance/repair activities
Procuring equipment, supplies and services as needed (dealing with household vendors, contractors, antique and art dealers, etc)
Establishing and maintaining the home office (including records for events, building and estate inventory); general administrative tasks
Monitoring personal and estate-related expenses
Handling special requests and related duties as needed
Work schedule is Monday to Friday, with heavy flexibility for overtime and weekends as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent life experience
A minimum of seven years relevant work experience managing high-profile residences
Outstanding references from both current and previous employers
Excellent computer skills required, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet and e-mail
Adept in managing and supervising household staff of up to 15 people, and working with service staff and other outside vendors
Ability to work independently as well as with a team, “hands on" as necessary
Demonstrate an understanding of complex physical house systems (lighting, heating and cooling, security), including “smart home" systems (i.e. Kaleidoscope)
Understands that the utmost in confidentiality and discretion is required
Household budget experience
Superior process-, project-, and time-management skills
Strong analytic, communication and change management skills
A superb command of the English language, both written and oral, is required
Flexible scheduling with availability to work overtime and weekends as needed
