SUMMARY:
Oversees the day-to-day managing, planning, and development of staff within the HR Operations Benefits and Leave of Absence (LOA) administration department in order to achieve the highest level of customer service and efficiency.
Manages a team of both exempt and non-exempt employees for Benefit and LOA administration. Responsible for personnel decisions including hiring, terminations and disciplinary actions. Establishes operational objectives and work plans and delegates assignments as appropriate. Reviews objectives to determine success of operation. Involved in executing new and/or changes to company policies and programs that affect operations in the administration of Benefits and LOA. Identifies tactical initiatives to improve productivity, customer satisfaction, and process improvements. Has a growing knowledge of the company and Human Resources specifically in the areas of HR Operations Benefits and LOA that allows for assistance in developing innovative concepts and promoting new ideas.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Responsible for the day to day administration of employee Benefits and LOA processes within HR Operations as part of the Employee Services Unit. Assists in developing strategic direction related to the operations of Benefits and LOA processing.
Develop, monitor, control and implement operating and processing procedures that ensure daily production and workflow metrics are met in the areas of Benefit administration and LOA. Ensure procedures are documented and evaluated. Assign, monitor and review daily work for accuracy. Ensure that daily service level metrics are met.
Identifies reengineering and streamlining opportunities. Evaluate feasibility, costs, and benefits and makes recommendations accordingly. This is a working management position which includes providing support in meeting daily production volumes.
Plan and direct implementation of projects related to the administration of Benefits and LOA.
Responsible for all personnel actions i.e., hiring, performance management, development, coaching, etc.
EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY:
College degree preferred in HR, business or related field or equivalent work experience.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
5-7 years of previous supervisory/management experience required. Prior experience in Human Resources, Operations, Benefits or Leave Of Absence administration required. Solid communication and interpersonal skills. PC skills e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
