Operations Manager

The Operations Manager reports directly to the General Manager and serves as the point person for all things related to the Ars Nova Building including scheduling, traffic flow, and cleaning and maintenance of the entire facility including rehearsal rooms, the 99-seat theater, green room and dressing rooms, offices, and the Ars Nova Loft. The Operations Manager also helps facilitate the day-to-day business of the theater, including managing office and concessions supplies, and coordinating staffing for the building and front of house positions.




The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, experience in building strong relationships with both internal and external constituents, and a willingness to pitch in to get things done. A basic understanding of theatrical production is preferred. This position requires a proactive, self-starter who identifies problems before or as they arise and has the ability to assess a situation and propose several possible solutions, adapting on a moment's notice to a new problem, while maintaining the highest standards for all aspects of the facility.




Responsibilities include:




- Negotiating and managing relationships with cleaning services to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the entire building at all times.
- Identifying and addressing all repairs and maintenance in the building including but not limited to building systems, lights, paint and wallpaper.
o Overseeing minor repairs and restocking supplies on an as needed basis.
o Coordinating with the appropriate outside vendors for larger projects.
- Maintaining the theater's inventory of concessions and office supplies.
- Creating and maintaining a schedule for building and front of house staff.
- Maintaining the schedule for all public and shared space in the building including the theater, rehearsal room, green room, and Loft.
o Maintaining the calendar for all spaces.
o Coordinating the appropriate set-up of each space according to the activity.
o Meeting all participants in rehearsals and renters in the lobby, escorting them to their designated room and supervising them as needed.
o Scheduling and coordinating over-hire staff as needed to supervise activity in the building both during and outside of regular offices hours.
- Booking and negotiating all rentals in the building.
- Managing all deliveries to the building.
