Essential Responsibilities There is an opening for a Docketing Clerk in GE's Appliances & Lighting business unit. Specifically the Docketing Clerk will be responsible for:

1) the administration, organization and filing of U.S., foreign and PCT patent applications and documents to further prosecution of the same, including preparing Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) on behalf of the business
2) the docketing of all patent related actions in GE's docketing system (PAGE)
3) entering data associated with any patent application or issued patent in PAGE
4) uploading documents to GE's Paperless Document System (IP Libraries (IPL))
5) scanning paper files and discrete paper correspondence into IPL
6) interfacing with GE's preferred providers of patent legal services and the GE businesses as required to ensure that docketing and data entry is accomplished with the requisite precision and timeliness
7) supporting IP attorneys in all aspects of patent administration
8) administering novelty search requests
9) the administration and management of patent evaluation boards
10) the administration and management of invoicing and payments for domestic patents using Tymetrix 360 and payment of US annuities through the USPTO
11) the administration of global trademark registration and clearances.
Qualifications/Requirements The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in the use and functionality of Excel, Word, Outlook, Business Objects and Power Point software products. He/she must have experience working in an environment where the candidate was required to work independently, be well organized, pay strict attention to detail, work with and maintain confidential information, and prioritize work assignments. He/She will have knowledge of laws, regulations, practices and procedures relating to procurement of patents in the U.S. and in countries other than the U.S. The candidate will have experience in the use of an intellectual property docketing system/software and/or experience in the use of GE's PAGE and IPL systems.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
Desired Characteristics . Experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.

. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and concisely and work with both outside counsel and members of GE businesses at a variety of levels of GE management.

. An Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university or it's equivalent.
