Elgin Recycling has been serving the scrap metal industry in the Chicago land area for 30 years. As a full service scrap metal recycling company we accept ferrous, non-ferrous and exotic metals as well as, paper, cardboard, plastic and electronics. We are a full service processing facility known for our quality service, integrity and dedication. We are looking for a hardworking dedicated person that is passionate about providing excellent customer service to join our team!


DESCRIPTION


This is a full time Administrative / Personal assistant position supporting primarily the operations team at our Gilbert’s facility as well as handling all personal and confidential matters for the Owners of the company. In this position you will be responsible for a wide array of duties and must be able to multi-task, prioritize, thrive in a fast paced & demanding environment while still providing quality customer service face to face as well as over the phone.



Requirements:

Our Ideal Candidate should possess:



  • Strong organizational skills and be detail oriented
  • Able to problem solve and create solutions with little to no direction
  • Must be able to multi task without getting stressed out during peak times
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Must have the ability to prioritize
  • Must be flexible and know when to apply a sense of urgency to get personal and confidential requests handled in a timely manner

  • Trustworthy / Honest
  • Punctual
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in providing excellent Customer Service 100% of the time
  • Friendly / Outgoing / Likes to work with people

Hours of Availability



  • Must be available Monday – Friday, possibly an occasional Saturday, if needed
  • 40 hours a week


 


Primary Responsibilities



  • Answer incoming calls

    • You will generally be the first point of contact for incoming calls and should be able to route them to the correct party quickly and efficiently


  • Greet Customers

    • You will generally be the first point of contact for greeting Customers face to face that come to our Gilberts office


  • Handle Paperwork

    • Efficiently help organize and file paperwork that comes through the front office


  • Work directly with the Owners of the company

    • Most dealings will be surrounding personal and confidential matters as well as business related items.
