Underwriting of both revenue and general obligation bonds, the Public Finance Municipal Banking Group has assisted hundreds of clients underwriting more than $50 billion in tax exempt financing with individual issues ranging from $250,000 to nearly $300 million.
Their extensive experience with structured revenue transactions enables them to create a financing package that minimizes cost while maximizing flexibility for clients. Furthermore, their broad sales capabilities and substantial capital base provide strong support in both primary and secondary markets.
Principal Responsibilities:
Ensure credit analysis, underwriting, structuring and ongoing portfolio monitoring and maintenance reflect a commitment to strong credit risk management.
On an ongoing basis, responsible for assessing whether process and procedures, particularly as it relates to credit analysis, are appropriate.
On an ongoing basis, will provide feedback to LOB managers on trends and developments related to credit, personnel, and process.
Take a lead role in problem credit recognition and problem credit management.
Is the primary conduit for interaction with Credit. Responsible for timely feedback to the approving Credit Officer.
In a timely fashion, review complex transactions and recommend structures that will provide our company with an appropriate risk/return.
Coach/mentor members of the team.
Responsible for providing direction to and professional development of team members.
Integral member of the team with loan syndication, origination, and distribution team.
Participate in client calling initiatives with Regional Managers, Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers and Product Partners.
Limited credit approval authority.
Requirements:
Outstanding analytical skills and financial acumen.
Understands the balance between growth, risk and profitability.
Possesses strong knowledge of credit, non-credit and capital markets product capabilities.
Knowledgeable in the mechanics of loan syndication and capital markets offerings.
Excellent communication skills and proven record of fostering strong client relationships both internally and externally.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrated leadership qualities and demonstrated ability to drive revenue opportunities while underwriting to appropriate quality standards.
Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting.
Knowledge of fund accounting.
Individuals who have worked in a Public Sector group or with non-profit associations, municipalities, colleges and universities.
Also willing to consider those involved in relationship management or Credit with a proven understanding of the importance of balancing growth, risk and profitability.
Minimum 5 years of Public Sector experience is preferred.
