Summary: The Grants Coordinator is the liaison with our Board Grants Committee. This position is responsible for developing and implementing proactive strategies to support the Affiliates Grants activities as well as the educational mission and goals as defined by the Community Profile. This position requires an ability to build strong relationships with professionals in local non-profits and area healthcare providers, as well as the Affiliates Grantees and volunteers. This position is committed to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure mission/promise and will be charged with identifying potential grantees and develop innovation educational opportunities that will enable the Affiliate to continue its mission within the Madison/ Dane County and eventual expanded service area. Duties: Assist in all grants processes to assure that the needs and gaps and priorities identified in the Community Profile are addressed by grant applicants. Work with the Grants Chair to create an RFA and assist in coordinating process of receiving, reviewing and maintaining affiliate grants Solicit and work with local non-profit organizations on new and innovative grant programs and requests Build, encourage and support partnerships with local churches, community organizations, health care organizations, medical providers, schools, corporations and government agencies (i.e., health departments, etc.) and others within the Affiliate service area to implement successful grantee and potential grantee programs for diverse populations as designated by the Executive Director. Assist with guidance and support for the annual grant writing technical workshop, as offered Make site visits and or meetings with grantees to enhance agency relationships, follow up on funded programs and assess for program compliance and evidence-based outcomes as it relates to the Community Profile Priorities and Objectives Host quarterly Grantee meetings at participating Grantee sites Work with Grants Chair to review progress and final grant reports submitted by grantees Compile year-end grant report regarding progress of all grants and statistics Coordinate with Affiliate Assistant to get all reporting uploaded to Komen portals by deadlines Assist with the Community Profile task force Enter information in the Komen HQ Grant Reporting portal and otherwise serve as the liaison with Komen HQ on grant matters Contribute breast health and mission-related items to the website, staff meetings and E-newsletter. Other assignments as designated by the Executive Director Travel Job related training in Dallas through Komen National (as selected) o Breast Cancer Education (topics & sessions vary) o Grants Program Qualifications Bachelors degree or above in health education, social work, organizational behavior, community health or public health or equivalent experience. Experience in a related field. Non-profit experience a plus. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Must be comfortable speaking in a variety of environments and interacting with diverse communities and individuals. Proven leadership capabilities. Strong interpersonal skills. Self starter Ability to handle multiple demands and respond to changing priorities. Outstanding organizational and analytical skills and the ability to multi-task. Additional beneficial skills (but not required): Ability to speak Spanish, knowledge of breast health community, grant writing or grant management experiences. Complete availability needed during months of May (pre-race) & October (breast cancer awareness month) and January/February (Grant review period) REQUIREMENTS Occasional travel to national conferences and training.
