Project Coordinator
Qualifications At a minimum, an Associates Degree or two years of full time college credits from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in Youth Work, Secondary Education, Special Education or a related human services field. In addition, three years experience with adolescents. Skill Requirements Strong Communication and people skills Capable of facilitating groups of adolescents. Ability to plan lessons and activities that are age appropriate Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office. Must have a drivers license, and a good driving record Patience/ ability to be flexible Ability to work and meet deadlines under pressure Work Schedule Part time, 20 30 hours / week: primarily weekday afternoons, and evenings and some weekends Responsibilities Provide positive youth development program for teens including academic supports and work readiness skills Day-to-Day coordination of Youth Encouragement Program, YEP, with an emphasis on building and sustaining 12 to 15 youth in Building A Better Youth (BABY) program. Day-to-Day coordination of Teens 4 Good, a teen led urban farming program during the summer Maintain Core Standards and other guidelines and oversee general Children and Youth Programs Tasks Work with other staff and supervisors and North Lights constituents on a variety of levels Facilitate youth activities and meetings Supervise all groups of participants Record keeping, which includes general filing and maintaining participant, records i.e. attendance and incentives. Arrange Special events and trips Serve as a liaison between schools, parents, and North Light Community Center Assist participants with homework as well as enrichment activities. Special projects as assigned.
