Regional Merchandise Manager, Latin America (Sports Management/Finance)
To develop and execute superior Go-To-Market strategies across key regional markets, designed to maximize brand growth opportunities.
Strategic Merchandise Management
The position will provide international regional management oversight of the overall strategic objectives within the International Merchandising Group focused on the development of seasonal product Go-To-Market merchandise strategies focused on managing product collections across retail channels and tiers, identification of brand and volume driver programs, composition and merchandising of key account collections, alignment of cross-channel merchandise strategies, development of brand support programs and delivery of integrated merchandising initiatives to the retail level.
Regional Merchandise Management
The position will provide regional management oversight of all regional product programs, including the identification of regional opportunities and participation in the product process (Line Reviews and Adoption) through to development, merchandising and delivery of the final product to retail. This position is also the first gate review in the Licensed SMU product process, responsible for reviewing all licensee product proposals.
Channel / Tier Engineering and Business Development
This position will interface with product teams, licensee partners and key retailers on a regular basis in the development of channel initiatives and new business opportunities including corresponding business plans, merchandising plans and strategic programs.
Regional Strategic Brand Initiatives
This position will participate in the development, initiation and management of assorted regional strategic brand initiatives from a merchandising perspective.
Business Planning
The position will contribute, as required, from an analysis perspective towards ongoing corporate meeting and project requirements including primary season market reports, sales meeting presentations, trend updates and others. In addition, the position will play a key role in the development of a three-year business plan for the Regional team.
Personal Skill Development
This position will be required to participate in ongoing skill development in areas of direct responsibility, particularly in regards to team integration, merchandise management and overall product management skills.
Qualifications
5-7 years work experience within the global consumer goods and/or retail environment, with knowledge of or experience within global sports fashion or athletic footwear and apparel a serious plus.
Technical: Ability to create and maintain analytical management tools for product merchandising, development, SKU performance, gross margin optimization and varied product / channel / tier / customer analysis.
Communication/Language: Superior written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate on a cross-cultural basis; basic knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese highly preferred.
Management/Leadership (if applicable): Exceptional inter-personal team alignment skills and ability to work in a cross-matrix functional capacity.
Other: Strong organizational skills; adept at managing change; clear ability to demonstrate ownership.
