Description
1. Monitors Quality Assurance of all areas in the Health Information Management Department. Takes appropriate action when standards are not met.
a. Works with Health Information Management Managers to assist in developing standards for their areas (direct and indirect) b. Ensures work performance is monitored by the manager and that the manager shares results with their staff in a timely manner.
c. Ensures a Quality Assurance Plan is created, implemented and monitored in each area of the Health Information Management Department d. Meets with managers on regular basis to share Quality Assurance results and monitor/adjust Quality Assurance criteria.
2. Provides necessary training materials to aid staff in continuing education; provides support to staff continuing education in form of standing support group meetings; scheduled speakers to attend monthly staff meetings.
3. Monitors and ascertains compliance with the Information Management and Record of Care Chapter in the Joint Commission Standards a. Coordinates/facilitates the gathering of compliance reports from entities associated with the Information Management and Record of Care section of the Joint Commission Standards b. Attends designated meetings regarding Joint Commission compliance c. Schedules meetings as appropriate to discuss and/or resolve Information Management and Record of Care issues pertaining to the Joint Commission Standards d. Provides in-services to the Health Information Management staff regarding Joint Commission standards.
e. Performs Joint Commission Information Management and Record of Care audits as needed.
1. AA degree from an accredited Health Information Management program or other Health related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
2. Two years progressively responsible professional experience in a health information management administrative role, to include supervising, is required.
