Job Description
The role of the Medical Secretary is integral to providing ""Extraordinary Care"" to patients and customers. The Medical Secretary helps provides quality patient care efficiently and cost effectively by assisting the physician and other providers in their specialized areas. The Medical Secretary may be involved in various activities including:
- Managing patient phone calls consistent with standing orders and practice specific protocols
- Providing administrative support by producing documents, reports, copies, record keeping, and by organizing and communicating efforts for physicians
- Acting as a liaison between the physician and patient or hospital and other outside entities
- Scheduling outside exams and studies
Completing these duties provides the Medical Secretary the opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of many on a daily basis.
Entry Rate: $12.69
Benefits Eligible: No
Additional Details: Position will work part-time, 16 hours per week at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Panguitch, Utah.
Minimum Requirements
- Three or more years of secretarial experience
- Two or more years clinical experience as a CNA or EMT
- Ability to type at least 40 WPM (words per minute)
- Computer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Medical terminology experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience with Help2
- Work experience with Centricity Web
- Work experience with medical transcription
- Clerical experience in a medical setting
