Team Leader / Senior Linux Engineer
This position is primarily responsible for the overall support of the development, testing, demonstration, and production environments of a 24x7 selected candidate should have thorough understanding of installing, managing, and troubleshooting Linux hosts and common Open-Source / COTS applications including Apache, Tomcat / tcServer, Hyperic and MQ. The Team Lead must be able to create and execute command line tools written in common scripting languages like Perl and Bash. Network services including SSH, SMTP, and DNS are also the responsibility of the Team Lead. Experience with the Tomcat / tcServer / JOnAS Servlet container, JMX; monitoring tools (such as Nagios or Zenos), application packaging tools (such as Quick Build and Maven), and deployment tools (such as Puppet) is required. The selected candidate must have experience in a production service environment; preferably with experience at an Internet or application service are looking for a self-starter who is able to execute tasks with little instruction from his or her manager. This Team Lead must be available to be on-call and be prepared to work outside of normal business hours under certain circumstances. Engineering Team Lead Qualifications: * Ensure environments remain accessible at all appropriate times* Monitor high availability and disaster recovery of all services* Make suggestions about best practices and performance enhancements of the environment to scale faster with less capital outlay* Supervise system administrators as well as manage their time on technical projects related to systems administration* Foster knowledge sharing and communication among team members regarding systems, deliverables and progress What you must bring to the job: * At least 10 years of experience managing Linux Systems in a production application environment* Experience with Apache and Tomcat Servlets container* Scripting experience (Perl, Bash, etc.)* Understanding of network concepts* Understanding of the ITIL framework What we would also like to see: * Enthusiastic Customer Service Attitude* Individual Accountability* Attention to Detail* Process, Best Practices, and Documentation Oriented* Strong Work Ethic* Focus on Teamwork and Communication* Professionalism in all duties
