    We are seeking to hire a full time Academic Payroll Analyst to serve more than 600 faculty and academic appointees in the Department of Psychiatry, Biobehavioral Sciences and Semel Institute for the Academic Payroll Office. Major duties include:

    • Processing all payroll and salary transactions including any payroll adjustments in UCPATH.

    • Maintaining accurate records and monitors salary and benefit related data.

    • Applying policies and procedures to resolve routine payroll issues.

    • Reviewing and analyzing Health Sciences Compensation Plan salaries

    • Assisting with the Annual Salary Negotiation process including preparation of less complex Faculty Compensation Worksheets (FCWs), and maintenance of payroll records.

    • Performing other routine payroll transactions as required.

    Pay Range: $24.81 - $52.11 hourly.Qualifications

    • Demonstrate knowledge of UCLA accounting policies, procedures, ledgers and forms for both revenue and expenditure cycles

    • Demonstrate proficiency using UC system's personnel and payroll systems (UCPath) of record and ability to process high volume entries.

    • Demonstrate experience in University human resources policies, procedures and systems including academic personnel, compensation, salary administration.

    • Understanding of UC HR and Payroll polices and related UCLA procedures.

    • Working knowledge of Congnos/CDW/QDB to pull reports from UCPath

    • Demonstrate knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and their practical applications in fund accounting

    • Demonstrate skills in reconciliation of UCLA general and subsidiary ledgers.

    • Demonstrate proficiency using a PC in a DOS, Windows and Network environment.

    • Demonstrate strong skills in using Microsoft Excel to create financial worksheets, maintain database files, prepare reports, and perform file linkage.

    • Demonstrate skills in using Word for Windows to write correspondence and reports.

    • Demonstrate knowledge of accounting principles and practices in accrual and deferral

    • Ability to interpret, analyze and evaluate financial information.

    • Ability to maintain and organize accurate accounting records with attention to detail.

    • Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.

    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

    • Bachelor's degree in business-related major preferred.
