Accounting Assistant

Robert Half is assisting a manufacturing organization with the recruiting for an entry level Accounting Assistant to join their team reporting to the Controller. The Accounting Assistant will match invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R).

The Accounting Clerk position is a permanent role in the Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, area offering full benefits with paid time off! This company is headquartered in Milwaukee with 7 other locations nationwide that this corporate accounting and finance team supports. Lot's of exposure to leadership and room for challenge at the Milwaukee location!

Responsibilities

• Handle accounts payable tasks: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing

• Assist Accounts Receivable with processing daily invoices/credit, applying cash receipts, and collecting past due balances

• General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

• Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

• Carry out additional related duties and help with special projects on an as-needed basis

• Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources

• Code documents using the proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

• Manually or electronically post financial information

Requirements

• High school diploma required

• Detailed and accurate data entry experience

• Proven experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel

• ERP system experience preferred
