    We are offering a position for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor based in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The role entails overseeing all accounting functions including but not limited to accounts payable and reporting. The successful candidate will also be responsible for financial analysis and supporting the real-estate management and full-cycle development processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with the Vice President, Accounting to ensure accurate and timely processing of all accounting functions.

    • Analyze and support the implementation of best practices in financial accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.

    • Work cohesively and collaboratively with internal partners to support real-estate management and full-cycle development processes.

    • Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements for the company's operations and budgets.

    • Manage spreadsheets and internal software systems to track payment obligations.

    • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities.

    • Collect and review supporting documentation for the annual audit and assist with tax matters.

    • Execute data entry tasks in Microsoft Excel, Word, and similar software.

    • Leverage accounting software systems and tools such as Workday for efficient operations.

    • Utilize strong communication skills to interact with various stakeholders and resolve issues effectively.

    Requirements

    • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or Supervisor

    • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems

    • Experience with Workday is necessary

    • Previous work in Public Accounting is required

    • Must possess excellent communication skills

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is preferred

    • Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a team

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

    • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

    • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports

    • High attention to detail and accuracy

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Strong organizational and planning skills

    • Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills

    • Ethical behavior and integrity in financial management

    • Strong decision-making skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
