Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Description

We are on the lookout for a technical Accounting Manager to join our team in the medical technology industry, based in RTP, North Carolina. This role is crucial within our Finance department, requiring an in-depth understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and standards. The individual will be responsible for supervising all technical accounting issues within the organization, analyzing complex transactions, and providing guidance on their accounting treatment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all technical accounting matters within the organization

• Analyze complex transactions and provide guidance on their accounting treatment

• Prepare entries for ASC 606 (revenue recognition) and ASC 842 (leases) activities

• Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations, accruals, and other necessary adjusting journal entries for month/quarter-end close in a timely manner

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, footnotes, and other disclosures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements

• Support the documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

• Utilize SAP for various accounting tasks

• Use Auditing skills to ensure accuracy of financial documents

• Employ skills in Month End Close, Financial Statement Preparation, General Ledger, Journal Entries, ASC 606, ASC 842, and SAP in daily tasks.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting Manager/Supervisor role, preferably within the manufacturing or medical field

• Proficiency in auditing processes and procedures

• Experience with month-end close activities and financial statement preparation

• Knowledge of general ledger functions and the ability to prepare and post journal entries

• Familiarity with ASC 606 and ASC 842 accounting standards

• Proficiency in using SAP software for accounting and financial tasks

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and other regulatory requirements.
