Accounts Payable Accountant

Jenny Bour with Robert Half is working with a non-profit in the Buffalo area that is looking to add an Accounts Payable Accountant to their team! You're a good fit for this Accounts Payable (A/P) Accountant position is you can match, batch and code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks. This is a great opportunity to work at a dynamic organization with a growing team. The permanent opening for an Account Payable Accountant is located in the Buffalo, New York area.

Your responsibilities

• Open, sort, and distribute daily department mail

• Ensure invoices, checks, and other documents are properly sorted, logged, scanned, and filed

• Fulfill full-cycle A/P

• Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling

• Assist with internal and external audits as needed

• Provide support to internal business partners

• Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks

• Carry out additional projects as required

• Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

Requirements

• Accounts Payable (AP) experience is required

• AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks

• Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
