Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the location of Goleta, California. This role will provide a valuable opportunity for the individual to gain experience in Accounts Payable and potentially learn general ledger and reconciliations, with a lot of on-the-job training provided. The position follows normal business hours and offers some flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Working in Accounts Payable, providing essential support to the financial operations of the organization

• Opportunity to learn and assist in general ledger and reconciliations, enhancing your accounting skills and knowledge

• Processing transactions and maintaining accurate records, ensuring financial data is up-to-date

• Undertaking bank reconciliations and assisting in month end close, ensuring all financial data aligns and is correct

• Providing excellent service to internal teams and stakeholders, addressing any queries or issues in a timely and professional manner

• Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments

• Participating in team meetings and contributing to process improvement initiatives

• Collaborating with other team members to achieve collective goals and targets

• Continual learning and development, with on-the-job training provided to enhance your skills and knowledge in accounting.

Requirements - Proven experience in an Accounts Payable Specialist role or similar financial position

• Proficient in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures

• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Knowledge of accounting software and databases

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
