    Description:

    The Administrative Secretary - Nursing Administration is responsible for overseeing administration, training, and clerical support within the department. Serves as a liaison and resource for internal and external parties, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. This role reports directly to the Manager of the Office of Professional Practice & Nursing Education and collaborates closely with Nursing Educators at Germantown & Silver Spring Hospitals, as well as the Regional Chief Nursing Officer.

    Responsibilities :

    • Support Nursing events such as Certified Nurses Day (March), Nurses Week (May), & The DAISY award (quarterly)

    • Schedule events, meetings and coordinate with Food Service for catering

    • Function as a liaison and interface with new hires & other stakeholders as needed.

    • Assist with creating orientation folders & badge buddies. Welcome new hires on the morning of the Nursing Division Orientation.

    • Assist Nurses in accessing the system for continuing education modules.

    • Manage office supply inventory.

    • Manage equipment & room reservations for stakeholders.

    • Process invoices in PeopleSoft.

    • Support RQI SIM by checking equipment (M- F) and placing replacement orders as needed.

    What you will need:

    Required:

    • High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.

    • Minimum of 2 years experience encompassing administrative functions.

    • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic.

    • Proficiency with computer/software programs, including Word, Excel, MS Teams.

    • Ability to create and develop department forms, newsletters, patient education literature, and other correspondence.

    • Able to communicate effectively, speak, write, and comprehend English well enough to proof and perform minor editing of routine office correspondence and forms.
