AP Accountant

Description

Industry leading, national distributor seeks an AP Accountant with the proven ability to process a large volume of invoices. The candidate will process client payments, maintain client records, match and batch invoices with purchase orders, perform general ledger coding, reconcile invoice discrepancies, track purchase orders, prepare journal entries, ensure proper compliance, and generate aging reports for management. This AP Accountant must have strong experience with data analysis, knowledge of US GAAP, possess high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze, process, and approve invoices

• Prepare weekly or bi-weekly check and or ACH/EFT runs

• Maintain client and vendor payment records

• Assist with invoices adjustments

• Prepare financial reports and statements

• Assist with the month end close process

• Review and reconcile employee credit card and expense reimbursements

• Reconcile account transactions

• Investigate and resolve A/P discrepancies

Requirements

The ideal AP Accountant will have at a minimum, an Associates degree in Accounting/Finance or similar.

Other requirements for the AP Accountant role include and are not limited to

• 2+ years of accounts payable experience

• Strong Microsoft Office Suite experience, Advanced Excel

• QuickBooks, NetSuite a plus

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of international payment systems
