Assistant Controller

Description

Innovative, manufacturer seeks an Assistant Controller with proven cost accounting experience. The responsibilities for this role will consist of maintaining daily financial affairs, cash management, overseeing the monthly and quarterly close process, business development, preparing journal entries, assisting with sales and use tax activities, maintaining the general ledger, driving the accounting and finance team, monitoring internal controls, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and assisting with treasury and FP& A transactions as needed. The ideal Assistant Controller for this role must have knowledge of GAAP, current industry trends, and excellent auditing skills.

Your responsibilities

• Oversee the daily cash flow process

• Analyzing purchase orders

• Coordinate the quarter, month, year-end process

• Budgeting & Forecasting

• Provide technical accounting feedback as needed

• Design and implement effective internal controls

• Account Reconciliation

• Prepare cash flow projections

• Implement process improvement where needed

• Prepare financial audits and review with external auditors

• Coach, train, and mentor accounting & finance team

Requirements

The ideal Assistant Controller will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar.

Other requirements for the Assistant Controller role include and are not limited to

• 7+ years' experience that includes 3+ years in management

• CPA a plus

• Experience with any ERP, Syteline a plus

• Manufacturing industry experience preferred

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
