Cash Applications Supervisor

Description

The Cash Application Supervisor is responsible for applying cash, overseeing the cash application team, ensuring all cash has been posted, free of errors, and reconciling balances to the general ledger at month end.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be a role model for company culture

• Maintain and enforce process

• Supervises cash application team

• Ensures customer payments are applied accurately and timely

• Reconciles deposits against general ledger on Day 1 of month-end

• Other relevant reconciliations and issue resolution

• Creates customer aging statements

• Researches, alerts teams of short pays and discrepancies, follows up until resolution

• Maintains cash application folders and records

• Maintains financial security by adhering to internal controls

MEASUREMENT OF SUCCESS

• Unapplied cash reconciled each week; zero un-accounted-for unapplied cash at month-end

• Bank deposits = book deposits at month-end

• Reconciliations are complete, discrepancies addressed, and saved in folders per month-end schedule

• Customer accounts reflect accurate open invoices

Requirements

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/REQUIRED PROFICIENCIES

• 3+ years of experience working in accounts receivable or accounting-related role with high volume of transactions

• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel (intermediate level)

• Experience with JD Edwards/AS400 a plus
