    Summary:

    The Constituent Services Advocate plays a crucial role in streamlining the medical/patient referral process for executive-level constituent requests on behalf of the CEO/Dean of UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine, Chief External Affairs Officer, other UNC Health/UNC School of Medicine Administrators, UNCH Medical Foundation leadership, and colleagues.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Participates in development and maintenance of a structured system to address the needs of special interest patients/constituents.

    2. Serving as a liaison between constituents, physicians, and various related offices, the Advocate manages inpatient and outpatient requests, addressing appointments, bed assignments, emergency services, and transfer requests within the UNC Medical Center and network facilities

    3. The advocate is responsible for providing feedback to the CEO/Dean and other administrators as appropriate and follows and works within patient privacy (HIPPA) guidelines.

    4. The role necessitates meticulous oversight of caller and patient interactions, intake coordination, tracking, and follow-up during and after business hours. Upholding the highest standards of professionalism and courtesy when working with patients, constituents, and family members.

    5. The position requires organizational expertise to ensure accurate and timely responses to inquiries

    6. The Advocate also demonstrates an acute sensitivity to confidential information, strictly adhering to HIPAA guidelines, protocols, and regulatory requirements.

    Education Requirements:

    ? Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Licensure/Certification Requirements:

    ? No licensure or certification required.

    Professional Experience Requirements:

    ? With an Associate's degree, requires at least one (1) year of of administrative/managerial experience for a director, vice-president or president of an organization or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    ? With a high school diploma, requires three (3) years or more of administrative/managerial experience for a director, vice-president or president of an organization or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

    ? Ability to work independently with sound judgment with carrying out tasks on behalf of the Office of the Dean/CEO and administration is required.

    ? Must be proficient in the EPIC system.

    ? Must have ability to multi-task and produce results at a very rapid pace at all times.

    ? Must be willing to be available after hours, evenings and weekends when contacted by the CEO/Dean, Executive Officer for External Affairs or other senior leadership.
