Description

Family owned manufacturing and logistics company in Baytown is looking to add an Assistant Controller to their team. Must be bilingual in Spanish! The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing key financial functions, including Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), and Payroll activities. The role involves preparing timely financial reports, managing banking relationships, and fostering effective communication with customers and suppliers to address A/R and A/P issues. The Assistant Controller plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger (G/L) and implementing training programs for accounting staff.

Assistant Controller Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all A/R, A/P, and Payroll activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with established policies.

• Prepare and analyze the general ledger (G/L), ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Maintain and manage relationships with banking institutions, ensuring smooth financial transactions and addressing any issues that may arise.

• Communicate with customers and suppliers via fax, phone, email, and letters to address A/R and A/P issues promptly and professionally.

• Provide training to subordinate personnel and new employees, emphasizing the priority of customer satisfaction.

• Develop and implement training programs for all accounting staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

• Report customer or company staff problems to the General Manager for resolution.

• Foster a work environment where customer satisfaction is the primary focus, and each employee understands their role in supporting this priority.

• Maintain the confidentiality of company, customer, and personnel information to ensure the protection of sensitive data.

Requirements

Assistant Controller Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Proven experience in accounting and financial management roles.

• Knowledge of relevant accounting software and tools.

• Fluent in Spanish
