    Robert Half is searching for an ambitious Controller eager to join the team at a reputable Construction/Contractor company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff.     Your responsibilities in this role

    • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

    • Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

    • Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

    • Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities

    • Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

    • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

    • Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

    • Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

    • Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

    • Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

    • Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

    Requirements - Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

    • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

    • Annual Financial Reporting experience preferred

    • Accounting management experience

    • Deep understanding of budget forecasting

    • Comprehensive knowledge of Construction Accounting

    • Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

    • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

    • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

    • Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well

    • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

    • Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

    • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

    • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

    • CPA/MBA preferred

    • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
