    Summary:

    Oversees the majority of interlibrary loan operations. Assists and trains patrons on the use of the library and its services including tutorials on databases, circulation, computer searches, and cataloging. Assists in library instruction and education programs. Responsible for the maintenance, access to, professional care, daily management, of the MetroHealth System's non-personnel/historical items in the Hospital's archive. This includes the organization, preservation, cataloging, and storage, of physical and digital items of historical significance. Upholds the mission, vision, and customer service standards of the MetroHealth System.

    Qualifications:

    Required: Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated knowledge of word processing and internet skills. Demonstrated initiative and independent problem-solving skills. Professional appearance and behavior. Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively teach and present. Knowledge and or interest in using emerging technologies to enhance the delivery of information services. The ability to work independently and collaboratively on teams. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

    Preferred:

    Collegiate training in archival administration as part of a Master of Arts (MA), Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), or another Master-level Library Studies Program. Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution. Healthcare Library Experience. Experience with library access services (cataloging, circulation, electronic resource management, discovery software). Experience working with interlibrary loan services (DOCLINE). Experience providing library instruction. Working knowledge of medical information resources (PubMed, Ovid, etc.). Working knowledge of copyright and fair use guidelines. Knowledge of evidence-based medicine principles.

    Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
