    This is a TEMPORARY to HIRE, 100% ONSITE opportunity located near Glenside, PA, with normal working hours between 8a - 430p on Monday through Friday.

    A well established long-term-care organization is looking to add a Financial Counselor (w/ Medical/Insurance Billing) to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting residents/families with understanding health insurance, inquiries on monthly billing statements, and monitoring of the financial needs of the residents in preparation for future needs. The Financial Counselor is also responsible for private balances on the accounts receivables for Independent, Personal Care, and Skilled nursing environments. A daily census reconciliation is conducted in each environment as well. The company uses a software called Point Click Care (PCC) - experience with this system is preferred but not required.

    The ideal candidate will have 1+ years experience in a hospital, healthcare, or most preferably - a long-term-care industry. Many requirements can be trained as they are eager for a willing and dedicated teammate, but having some sort of accounts receivables, medical billing, or experience with medicare/medicaid and insurance billing would be preferred.

    Responsibilities

    • The ability to deliver excellent customer service to all PC and SNF residents and families.

    • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Manager to develop goals related to the accounts receivable and cash receipts.

    • Work independently to achieve accounts receivable/collection goals through room visits, phone calls, letters, and prompt recognition of collection issues.

    • Reconcile census with inter-departmental team. Attend morning meeting and report trends that may affect the revenue cycle.

    • Accept and log cash receipts in accordance with the cash posting process.

    • Respond to all inquiries in a friendly and engaging manner within one business day. These inquiries can be face-to-face, email or by phone.

    • Reconcile the cash postings to deposits on a weekly basis, ensuring the smooth completion of monthly closeout.

    • Process all refunds in a timely manner.

    • Accumulate and enter defined ancillary charges for residents and process all monthly resident invoices.

    • Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibit behavior as set forth by the Phoebe Ministries Code of Ethics and Business Integrity in the performance of their duties.

    • Adheres to the Organizations Policies and Procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns.

    • Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to their position.

    • Adheres to all Organizations Policies and Procedures

    • Follows standard/universal precautions.

    • Attends all corporate mandatory in-service training programs and required meetings.

    • 1+ year in a position with relative experience (either medical billing, accounts receivable, or strong connection to health insurance/billing)

    • Someone who is caring, good with people, customer-service oriented, and unafraid of calling insurance companies for payment.

    • Point Click Care system experience (PCC) preferred but not required.

    • Experience with Navinet, PA Promise, Medicare is preferred, but not required.
