Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently and safely handling materials using a sit-down forklift and performing manual labor tasks. This role involves operating a forklift 50% of the time and engaging in manual labor for the remaining 50%. Additionally, the Material Handler will be required to learn the manufacturing process of the garnet stone to ensure efficient handling and processing. Responsibilities: - Operate Sit-Down Forklift: Safely operate a sit-down forklift to transport materials throughout the facility, ensuring timely delivery to designated areas. - Perform Manual Labor: Engage in manual labor tasks such as loading and unloading materials, stacking pallets, and organizing inventory. - Heavy Lifting: Handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds, ensuring proper lifting techniques are followed to prevent injuries. - Manufacturing Process Learning: Learn and understand the manufacturing process of garnet stone, including the stages of production, quality control measures, and safety protocols. - Material Handling: Handle garnet stone materials with care and attention to detail to prevent damage and ensure product quality. - Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking quantities of materials received, transferred, and used in production. - Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while operating machinery and performing manual labor tasks to ensure a safe working environment. - Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on the forklift and other equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues to the appropriate personnel. - Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to achieve production goals and maintain workflow efficiency. - Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest solutions to enhance productivity and streamline operations. - Must have reliable transportation for commuting to various job locations. - Proficiency in English required for effective communication in the workplace.
