    About the role

    The Consultant is responsible for preparing draft deliverables for a large set of clients within their division. The Consultant is responsible for cooperation with team leadership in the advancement of the Hotels Advisory program for the division. They are also to cooperate closely with the Senior Consultant and Director in the Division in which they are located. The Consultant possesses a high degree of competency and subject matter expertise required for preparing from start to finish some of the more intermediate level Market & Feasibility Studies, Operator Searches, Acquisition Due Diligence services, and other Advisory assignments with review by the Senior Consultant position and above.

    In addition, the Consultant works closely with the Senior Consultant and Director to increase competency of the more complex projects and services offered, and assists senior team members in preparing deliverables for some of the most complex assignments including multi-phased, mixed-use assignments, Debt Advisory services, etc. Reviews research and work product of analysts in their division. Develops and maintains new client relationships in order to sell work for their division. Mentor analysts and train them in formats and methodology required for drafting intermediate level deliverables.

    What you'll do

    Duties Specific to Consultant: Assists senior team members in development of proposal responses and deliverables for client pursuits. May be responsible for small project engagements from pursuit through execution. Assist Senior Consultant and other senior team members in pursuing proposals. Aggressively pursues efficiencies and enhancements in all Advisory deliverables and makes recommendations to Senior Consultant and Director based on findings.

    General Administrative Responsibilities. Actively provides guidance to analysts, with strong emphasis on training, quality control and attention to detail.

    Coordinates with the line of business platform; i.e., subject area, geographic resources and experts able to support the needs of line of business clients. Maintains awareness of individuals and available resources within CBRE, both internal and external to CBRE Hotels platform, required to optimize client outcomes.

    Responsible for executing some intermediate level assignments from start to finish and assists Senior Consultant and Director in executing more complex assignments, including Market and Feasibility Studies, Acquisition Due Diligence, Operational Studies, among other offerings. The Consultant should be able to execute most intermediate level assignments with minimal assistance.

    Business Development: Develops client and industry contacts, actively promotes Advisory services both internally and externally. Attends local industry conferences and events, and actively pursues opportunities for impactful client interactions within the scope and limitations of the Marketing Plan and with MD approval.

    Quality Control. Assists senior team members in their Division in improving quality of Advisory in accordance with special instructions and practices as follows: (1) Clear all Advisory proposals for adherence to policies and avoidance of conflicts. (2) Review procedures as to assignments in progress. (3) Review or arrange for the review of all deliverables prior to release. (4) Review work of analysts prior to final review by management

    Information and Research. (1) Recommend data to be included in information source file. (2) Assists senior team members in the pursuit of research topics for publication. (3) Coordinates with senior team members to publish relevant content via email blasts, trade publications, social media, etc. (4) Manages analysts' research efforts in preparation of Research projects.

    Client Relations and Practice Development. (1) Cooperate with senior team members to see that follow-up plans are established to assist in obtaining continuing Advisory assignments. (2) Assist in the promotion and publicizing of Advisory services. (3) Participate in such outside activities as are deemed beneficial in advancing the Advisory, VAS and CBRE Hotels services of CBRE. (4) Assist analysts in the division in their professional development, research techniques, methodology and client service initiatives required for advancing the Division practice.

    Recognized as a valued team member on a clear path to advancement and leadership position within the Division hotel team. Responsible for assisting team members in preparing for client communication during and after assignments to ensure optimal client outcomes.

    No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

    What you'll need

    Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred, in Hotel Administration, Marketing.

    4-6 Years of experience, intermediate-level role in production, business development and mentoring.

    HSMA / CHM / Member of significant hotel associations such as AH&LA, CHA, or ISHC.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

    Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.

    Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.

    Track record of developing and maintaining good client relationships. Recognized as a future industry expert and has some history of operating at a moderate to high level of production with a strong growth trajectory. Exhibits leadership and management potential, and clearly demonstrates ambition for career advancement.

    Knowledge of hotel operations and investments

    Some travel required (US) as is customary in the normal course of business for conducting Advisory assignments
