    Summary:

    Analyzes and organizes office operations and procedures, coordinates credentialing and reappointment process for medical staff and practitioners, directs and coordinates budget preparation, and provides resources on JCAHO Medical Staff standards.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Maintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others.

    2. Analyzes and organizes office operations and procedures. Establishes departmental standards and objectives.

    3. Coordinates the credentialing and reappointment process for the Medical Staff and Dependent Practitioners. Ensures compliance with the National Practitioner Data Bank.

    4. Serves as a liaison between the employees, the Medical Staff and the Executive Office.

    5. Directs and coordinates the budget preparation. Monitors the budget for appropriate utilization of resources.

    6. Keeps Executive Office, Department Chairmen and Committee Chairpersons informed of departmental activities, needs and concerns.

    7. Provides education, guidance and resource material to Medical Staff and hospital departments regarding JCAHO Medical Staff standards.

    8. Assists with the credentialing of physicians and department practitioners in managed care and other insurance plans.

    Education Requirements:

    ? Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.

    Licensure/Certification Requirements:

    Professional Experience Requirements:

    ? If Bachelor's degree, requires three (3) years of related experience.

    ? If Associate's degree, requires seven (7) years of related experience.

    ? If high school diploma, requires eleven (11) years of related experience.

    Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

    ? Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
