    The role you'll contribute:

    Provides administrative support and customer service support to the Transplant department and program to facilitate quality patient care. Receives, greets, and provides appropriate directions for patients, families, visitors, physicians, ancillary personnel, and vendors in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner. Performs clerical and reception duties including answering multiple phone lines, taking messages, and triaging calls. Assists patients with scheduling tests and retrieves reports. Coordinates, retrieves, and communicates patient information including diagnostic and lab results to physicians, staff, and other departments. Prepares patients for clinic including rooming patient, taking vital signs and assisting with order requests. Prepares patient charts and maintains database for patient presentations. Assists nursing with UNOS form requirements.

    • Answers incoming call promptly in a pleasant, helpful manner. Triages incoming calls and obtains accurate and appropriate information for messages. Delivers messages in a timely manner.

    • Rooms patients for clinic visits and takes vital signs.

    • Assist with submitting orders diagnostic/lab tests and prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner within scope of practice; prioritizes and coordinates activities.

    • Coordinates with other departments (e.g., dietary, perfusion, x-ray, ultrasound, ECG, Respiratory) in providing efficient patient care by obtaining necessary reports, films, etc.

    • Assists patients with scheduling tests and retrieving test results.

    • Schedules procedures in an effective manner.

    • Makes sound judgment in scheduling procedures taking into consideration the procedure and the patient's dialysis schedule.

    • Assists with coordinating and managing outreach clinic trips for the transplant team.

    • Acts as a resource for the outreach clinic sites and the transplant team for scheduling patients to be seen by the transplant team.

    • Travels to outreach clinics with physicians as requested to assist with the clinic as necessary.

    • Maintains current patient record to ensure availability of accurate patient information and facilitate quality care.

    • Adapts to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, census and staffing through priority setting and flexibility.

    • Demonstrates effective time management and is proactive in prioritizing workload and meeting productivity requirements.

    Qualifications

    The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

    Required:

    • High School Diploma/G.E.D

    • Completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program

    • Certificate of competition from a Medical Assistant program or current Colorado CNA licensure

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
