Medical Biller/Collections Specialist

Description We are providing an opening for a Medical Biller/Collections Specialist within the healthcare and social assistance industry, specifically in the Rancho Mirage, California area. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity, where you will be responsible for medical billing and collections in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of medical billing for PPO insurance

• Conduct collections and accounts receivable duties for insurance

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records

• Resolve billing issues and inquiries in a timely manner

• Monitor customer accounts for timely payments

• Collaborate with the billing manager to ensure all billing operations are conducted effectively

• Follow flexible work hours between 6:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

• Adhere to the dress code, preferably wearing scrubs or solid color business casual attire

• Utilize your skills in medical billing to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the billing process. Requirements - Must have previous experience in the healthcare, hospital, or social assistance industry

• Proficient in medical billing and coding procedures

• Familiarity with health insurance policies and procedures, including Medicaid and Medicare

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial information

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

• Proficiency in using medical software and electronic health records systems

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in Medical Billing or related field preferred.
