We are looking for a Medical Director for our Mission Health Partners team where excellence creates excellence.

    Mission Health Partners (MHP) is one of the largest Accountable Care Organizations in North Carolina, with value-based agreements in place with payors that allow MHP to provide care coordination services for at-risk patients under these health plans while also providing incentives for physicians to improve quality and reduce unnecessary costs. MHP currently serves approximately 90,000 patients in western North Carolina, with an overall goal of improving health outcomes and reducing costs. MHP utilizes a unique and innovative combination of data-driven initiatives and the implementation of an innovative care coordination model that focuses on social determinants of health - that is, the social and environmental factors that may have a significant influence on a patient's health outcomes.

    Job Summary and Qualifications

    Works collaboratively with Mission Health Partners (MHP) administrative leadership and clinical staff in the overall clinical management of the network and its care teams. Maintains shared accountability for decisions regarding MHP strategic planning and goals, direction, and development of clinical protocols to assure evidence-based best practices.

    Essential Accountabilities

    • Responsible for provider network engagement and management

    • Participates in MHP governance.

    • Leads MHP network quality management.

    • Responsible for MHP models of care.

    • Participates in payor contracting and management.

    • Represents the network to state and federal agencies as a leader in health care innovations.

    • Leads MHP clinical analytics.

    • Assists in team development activities.

    What qualifications you will need:

    Required Education: M.D. or D.O. Degree.

    Preferred Education: Master's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration.

    Required License: Current M.D. license in North Carolina is required.

    Required Memberships: Buncombe County Medical Society Membership is required.

    Required Experience: Ten or more years of demonstrated progressively responsible medical experience. Demonstrated knowledge of the laws and accreditation standards applicable to hospitals is necessary. Strong teamwork, interpersonal relations, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are required. Is an advocate of team concepts. Ability to get along with diverse personalities and handle multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Must possess a solid record of effective physician relations, including the ability to work with physicians on daily problem-solving and in the development of new programs. Must be tactful, mature, flexible, and possess good reasoning skills.
