Merchandise Handler Internship, Target Field

The Opportunity

Delaware North Sportservice is hiring a Merchandise Handler Intern to join our team for 2024 baseball season at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Are you an energetic undergraduate or graduate student who's seeking an incredible paid internship program? Delaware North internships are paid and can be completed for academic credit. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience and make an impact in a global company. This internship is available to start in March and end at the end of the team's baseball season.

Pay

$16.00 - $16.00 / hour

Responsibilities

• Assist with receiving and distribution of retail merchandise

• Work with the Retail Warehouse Manager on novelty buying

• Coordinate merchandise orders for client and guest needs

• Maintain and replenish the jersey lettering program as needed

• Assist with the inventory process

• Performs other duties as assigned

Learning Objectives

• Understanding of the inventory control process from start to finish

• Comprehension of inventory management and buying process

• Learn how to build client/guest relationships

• Gain perspective of multi-location retail operation

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Degree in Retail Management program preferred

• Area of Study(s): Retail

• Strong understanding of MS Office, particularly Excel

• Sound judgment and decision-making skills

• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pull heavy carts of stock throughout facility.

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting and reaching, during entire length of shift.

• Warehouse environment, noise level may be moderate-to-high.

• Exposed to outdoors and variable temperatures, including extreme hot and cold depending on the season.

• Exposed to fumes from delivery trucks and other equipment.
