    Merchandiser III- Meal Merchandiser

    Position Summary

    This merchandiser position is based in either Fargo, ND or Minneapolis, MN. In this position you will be trading for the multi-commodity oilseed processing plant in Enderlin, ND. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to be responsible for Enderlin's mid protein meal sales and strategic execution of canola and sunflower meal. You will need to have strong communication and develop strong trusting relationship with customers.

    Description of Work Performed

    • Develops key communication links within ADM to ensure optimal use of ADM facilities and market access, and understanding of market requirements to facilitate the effectiveness of ADM assets

    • Builds and maintains positive relationships with accounts that bring defined value

    • Understand local meal markets and understand how to be competitively priced vs higher proteins.

    • Price discovery and offer maintenance to enhance risk management and pricing

    • Have a deep knowledge and understanding of current plant operations

    • Be able to effectively manage your inventory and customer base between commodity crushes

    • Develops a good working knowledge of freight spreads and competitor activities

    • Discover and execute opportunities of arbitrage

    • Works to make quick decisions in a fast market while accepting the responsibility to defend them logically

    • Develops good understanding of local plant operations

    • Handles all accounting related issues in a timely manner to ensure good customer service

    • Develop clean understanding of local, national, world market, and trends

    • Aggressively makes outbound phone calls to deliver and receive timely market information

    • Ensures that individual goals are aligned with company goals

    • Constantly works on induvial and personal development within the company

    • Works to attain positive, cooperative relationships with internal colleagues across divisions and responsibilities

    • Effectively use communication channels for proper coordination within the office and other locations

    • Portrays a positive image of the company and self when interacting with customer and colleagues.

    Job Requirements

    • 5 year Animal Agriculture Sales Experience or Merchandising Experience

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in agriculture or business

    • Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills

    • Demonstrated knowledge and understand of domestic trade

    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of freight spreads and arbitrage

    • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers.

    • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers.

    • Proven ability to work within a team environment

    • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment

    • Computer competent, ability in the use of spreadsheets, database, word processing, and application within a windows based environment
