Mortgage Counselor

Description

Robert Half is partnering with a National Non-profit Organization seeking several motivated and compassionate Housing Counselors. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing guidance and support to individuals and families on their journey towards homeownership. As a Housing Counselor, you will play a crucial role in assisting our members in navigating the complexities of the home buying process while promoting financial stability and responsibility.

This role will be 100% on-site in Charlotte, NC. The hours will be Monday-Friday 9am-6:30pm and will require paid overtime.

Responsibilities

• Guide individuals towards their homeownership goals and improve financial management skills.

• Complete documentation and data entry for qualification and mortgage processing.

• Document files with written narratives and identify action items for members after each counseling session.

• Review financial history to assess readiness for homeownership and affordability.

• Develop realistic budgets and address budget issues to establish affordable mortgage payments.

• Assist members in resolving payment history issues, reducing debt, and adjusting expenses.

• Define a savings plan for home purchase.

• Determine affordable mortgage payments and outline paths to homeownership goals.

• Process documents and address issues promptly.

• Provide information on mortgage products and options for informed decisions.

• Assist members in their housing search within their affordability and eligibility.

• Maintain communication during the housing search process.

• Review and process applications to ensure eligibility.

• Assist in submitting mortgage applications and address lender conditions.

• Guide members through the closing process for smooth mortgage facilitation.

Requirements

• NO absences during the first 90 days for training

• Must pass HUD Certification - employment will be contingent upon passing this test

• Superior Customer Service Skills

• Ability to work 45-50+ hours a week - will be compensated for overtime

• Availability to work some weekends and occasionally travel
