GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Under general supervision, but following existing policies, procedures and applicable banking laws and regulations, including BSA and AML, reviews, prepares and processes, in a timely manner, all required documents necessary to submit for closing of all conventional, FHA and VA mortgage loans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for reviewing all newly assigned loan files, following investor program guidelines, to ensure appropriate documentation is compiled. Orders all necessary verifications and requests any missing documentation from the loan officer and/or borrower. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
Regularly reviews and monitors all open assigned loan files in a pipeline, maintaining frequent contact with the loan officer and borrower(s) throughout the loan application, underwriting, and closing process. Follows-up with the appropriate party regarding all missing documentation and helps resolve discrepancies as they occur. This duty is performed daily, about 25% of the time.
Ensures all correspondence and loan status is appropriately documented in the mortgage loan tracking system and reports the status of loans to the Residential Lending Operations Manager. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
Submits completed files to the Residential Loan Underwriter in a neat, organized, and timely matter. Works with the Residential Loan Underwriter to clear all outstanding items per the conditional approval. This duty is performed daily, about 25% of the time.
Reviews files that are cleared to close, clears any remaining exceptions, and ensures all documentation is correct before taking the file into closing. Works with the Mortgage Loan Closer to complete any complications or corrections prior to closing. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
Responds to Quality Assurance and Secondary Market conditions after the loan is closed to ensure compliance and investor conditions are met. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 7 to 11 months related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
