    Description:

    Position Purpose:

    The MR Supervisor assumes responsibility for the Magnetic Resonance (MR) area maintaining all standards established by the Department of Radiology.

    What you will Do:

    • Serves as an MR Technologist.

    • Develops, reviews, and revises departmental policies and procedures under the direction of the Radiologists. Shares policies with Mercy One Regional network facilities that provide MRI exams read by the Radiologists of North Iowa.

    • Is responsible for initiating all aspects of the Mercy Way including but not limited to huddles, immediate problem solving, waste elimination, and identifying safety and service issues.

    • Participates and supports all customer service initiatives.

    • Serves as a safety liaison for the MRI department ensuring safety standards are being met.

    • Develops and monitors quality assurance programs for MR. Ensures compliance with all government regulatory bodies to achieve/satisfy maximum accreditation. Follows ACR guidelines to maintain accreditation on all MRI systems.

    • Selects, trains, and evaluates personnel including MRI interns.

    • Controls MR budget by monitoring supplies and scheduling staff according to volume

    • Coordinates and/or participates in monthly departmental, inter-, and intra-departmental committee meetings. Communicates appropriate information to Radiologists, MR staff, Radiology managers and Director of Imaging Services.

    Full Time, Day Shift

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Must be credentialed in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

    Must be credentialed in Magnetic Resonance by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

    Must possess a Bachelor's degree or be willing to obtain a degree within 5 years.

    Must have demonstrated competence as a MR Technologist for a minimum of 3 years.

    Must demonstrate competencies with JCAHO Standards and State of Iowa regulations.

    Must have gained such a variety of experience that leadership and knowledge are expressed in work characteristics.

    May be required to alternate shifts. May be required to take call.

    Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.

    Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
