  • Overview

    The position is responsible for executing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting on production jobs and critical processes based on shift checklists and clearly defined procedures and policies. Also required to possess a detailed operational knowledge of the processing requirements and system flow for all application software systems.

    The schedule for this role is Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 11pm-7am EST.

    Responsibilities

    Data Center Operations

    • Ensure 24/7 coverage.

    • Monitor servers and applications for critical services and availability; perform hourly checks; apply documented troubleshooting and escalation procedures.

    • Provide focused monitoring and support for the following critical production data center applications:

    • Aptos Application Suite (Sales Audit, Polling, Enterprise Selling, Key Server, etc.)­

    • Aptos Customer Relationship Management

    • Order Management System (IBM Sterling)

    • Integration System (IIB/IBM MQ)

    • Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan)

    • Monitor and execute trouble escalation procedures in support of VSI's:

    • Core data center environmental support systems (e.g., UPS, A/C, etc.)

    • LAN/WAN connectivity and infrastructure.

    • Hyper-converged infrastructure and active guest VMs (Windows/Linux) associated.

    • Execute deployment of Microsoft patches to all VSI servers and manage automated/manual server reboots.

    Security Operations

    • Create and manage user accounts using AD, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational policies.

    • Assign users to appropriate security and distribution groups based on job roles and access requirements.

    • Maintain group memberships and permissions to ensure adherence to the principle of least privilege.

    • Enable & disable user accounts and set account expiration dates as needed.

    • Monitor EDR systems for incidents, create tickets and/or escalate based on severity of incidents.

    Backup & Recovery Operations

    • Ensure consistent and reliable data protection across the organization's systems using Rubrik backup technology.

    • Ensure all data center & cloud systems follow backup policies (SLA).

    • Perform daily evaluations on all backup, replication & archival jobs; troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate, & log any issues or failures.

    • Fulfill any file recovery requests for OneDrive, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams & on-prem applications.

    iSeries (AS/400, IBM i) Operations

    • Provide end-user support for corporate, retail & warehouse users.

    • Monitor the performance and health of the AS/400 systems, including hardware, software, and associated peripherals.

    • Execute scheduled and non-scheduled AS/400 production batch jobs, data transfers (store sales data, pricing changes, product information, etc.) backup jobs, nightly EOD jobs as per operational requirements.

    • Monitor system error messages, job queues and system activity.

    • Respond to alerts and system error messages. Diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize disruptions.

    • Collaborate with AS/400 administrators, developers and 3 rd party technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex system problems.

    • Maintain accurate records of AS/400 activities, errors, and system logs as per auditing policies.

    • Manage iSeries user profiles and menu security access.

    General Responsibilities:

    • Follow and execute shift-based checklists.

    • Monitor ticket queues, fulfill and/or re-direct requests.

    • Provide after-hours end-user support for corporate and offshore users.

    • Monitor the delivery of Financial and Supply Chain reports.

    • Author and communicate shift turnover logs.

    Qualifications

    Education/Certification:

    • Associates' Degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of intellectual instruction and work experience; Certificate of completion from an accredited technology school

    Required Qualifications:

    • Must have System Operator experience AS/400/IBM i

    • Must have strong documenting and commenting skills.

    • Strong familiarity with Windows Server & Linux distributions.

    • Experience with Active Directory and user account management is a must.

    • Strong understanding of account security principles and best practices.

    • Proficiency in using command-line interfaces.

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

    • Effective communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical users.

    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

    • Relevant certifications in AS/400 System Operator, Cyber Security, Windows Server, Linux, and Backup technologies are a plus.

    Experience Required:

    • At least 2-3 years of experience in Information Technology
