    Patient Access Representative - Cardiology Services

    Summary

    Performs duties and responsibilities associated with greeting patients, EPIC/PennChart scheduling and retrieving orders, answering phones, collecting copays and making deposits, documentation, verifying insurances, and acquiring referrals and authorizations/precerts. Acts as the initial contact for patients and visitors to the Outpatient Cardiology testing area. Maintain complete & accurate records.

    Minimum Experience Required, Certifications/Degree Requirements:

    High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years community college is preferred. Demonstrate coursework with Medical Terminology. Successful certification of EPIC/PennChart (class).

    Skill Requirements:

    High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of community college is preferred. Demonstrate coursework with Medical Terminology. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare environment with direct patient contact is required. Previous registration experience preferred with a thorough understanding of third-party insurance coverage. Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written skills and professional appearance essential. Successful certification of EPIC/PennChart (class).
