Payroll Specialist

Location : Flex In Office/Remote in MA or IL

Pay Rate : $29 - $38/hr dependent on experience

Hours: M-F 8AM - 5PM

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their team. This role will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees in the U.S. and Canada, playing a vital role in maintaining our payroll integrity.

As a Payroll Specialist you will handle payroll processing, including data entry, reconciliation and auditing. You'll also resolve tax issues, support audits, and collaborate with HR on new compensation elements. Compliance with internal controls and providing exceptional customer service are key aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately using automated systems

• Reconcile and audit payroll reports for accuracy

• Handle special payments, wage garnishments and stock options

• Collaborate with HR on payroll related inquires

• Support internal and external audits

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills

• Ability to work well within at eam and communicate effectively

• Knowledge of multi-state payroll laws and internal controls

• Proficiency in PC based software and payroll processing software

• 3-5 years of payroll experience; CPP designation preferred

• Experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP Essential TIme or Workday preferred
