Payroll Tax Specialist-HYBRID Schedule

Job Description

The Payroll Tax Specialist performs a variety of tasks related to the processing, filing, and reconciliation of payroll tax liabilities. The position utilizes various tools, resources, and processes to perform research and assist in the resolution of payroll tax related inquiries. As well, the Payroll Tax Specialist effectively communicates issues impacting payroll tax compliance.

Job Responsibilities

• Acts as the subject matter expert for payroll tax and compliance

• Perform tax reconciliations after payroll close to ensure accurate filings with agencies

• Perform tax wires as required

• Daily audit reports and tax tickets to perform tax adjustments

• Assist with quarterly and year end processes

• Support J1 & F1 visa to Human Resources to ensure employee tax procedures are followed

• Ensure internal and external policies and procedures are in compliance with federal / state / local regulations.

• Research regulatory payroll tax law changes

• Effectively communicate regulatory issues impacting payroll and/or tax compliance.

• Partners with the Finance team by providing reports and/or data related to payroll and tax

• Participate in special projects and process improvements as needed

• Partner with Risk Management team to provide payroll support for Workers Compensation audits

• Provide professional customer support

• Communicates effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization

• Timely and accurate completion of all tasks is maintained in an organized, effective, and positive manner

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of experience with payroll tax filings and compliance

• Strong accounting skills, detail oriented, proficient in Microsoft office software

• Multi-state payroll tax experience

• Overall payroll tax knowledge

• Strong communication skills

• Strong problems solving skills

• Experience with ADP and Ultimate Software preferred
