  • Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Production Planner. This position will be located at our Beltsville, MD facility.

    The Senior Planner will support and lead key material replenishment improvement initiatives within the value stream and assist in the training and development of junior or new planning team members. In this role, you will serve as the lead liaison between the value stream and customer service to communicate internal and external demand and supply misalignments. In addition, you will lead the creation, communication and coordination of an achievable production schedule based on demand, capacity and material availability.

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $88837.47 - $130294.96 a year.

    What you'll do:

    • Determine and maintain the appropriate Master Schedule/Forecasting parameters for the value stream. Ensure that production schedules are level loaded and that plant output is as linear as possible while customer service levels are maximized. Ensure MRP planning parameters are aligned to Eaton Policies and the production areas.

    • Serve as a back-up for the Value Stream Materials Manager.

    • Ensure timely releases of work orders to the shop floor. Monitor the number of work orders outstanding and the capacity load on key operations.

    • Generate information on scheduled demand items for use in Sales, Inventory, and Operational Planning (SIOP) process.

    • Ensure the balance of demand and capacity in lean cells. Determine Kanban container quantities and bin sizes for lean work cells.

    • Act as liaison between customer service and the shop floor to ensure customer information is provided timely.

    • Perform order confirmation of discrete sales orders within lead time to ensure capacity and material availability.

    • Develop capacity modules to ensure proper amount of work is released to the floor.

    • Attend and support daily tier meeting structure and manufacturing floor activities.

    • Champion and lead assigned aerospace-wide SCM initiatives for the site.

    • Review new sales order requests and provide a feasible promise date to customer service before the orders are promised.

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

    • Minimum of two (2) years experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing, material management, or supply chain management.

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.

    • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

    • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beltsville, MD will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering from an accredited institution.

    • Minimum of three (3) years experience in material management, industrial engineering, finance, or supply chain management.

    • Application experience in Lean Concepts.

    • CPIM Certification.

    • Previous working experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes as well as special processes.

    • Full knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic.

    • Thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving.

    • Detailed knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management.
