    SCOPE OF POSITION:

    Determines materials and manufacturing routings required and provides information to production personnel in order to fabricate products for customer orders in a timely manner and meet customer requirements.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Reads and analyzes shop drawings and job files. Ensures jobs have accurate and sufficient information to release for fabrication.

    • Determines materials required for jobs; inclusive of quantities, hardware, raw material, finishes and all other details that may be required to fabricate product.

    • Ensures bill of materials, fabrication instructions, finishing instructions, time requirements for shop work orders are correct for product fabrication. Collaborates with Manufacturing, IT, Master Data, Customer Service, Custom Products, and Technical Support teams to ensure information is clear and accurate.

    • Plans material for large jobs that exceed normal stock levels and non-stock materials for specified jobs; ensures that material requirements are current and correct of these orders for purchasing to accommodate special needs or runs of material from suppliers.

    • Assigns ship dates to customer orders, based on material availability and manufacturing capacity and communicates information back to customer service team.

    • Creates and releases shop orders for stocking sub-assemblies.

    • Notifies Scheduling team of capacity constraints, and when orders are falling outside of advertised lead times.

    • Searches for alternate material or manufacturing methods to ensure best service to customers.

    • Supports other Production Planners with their duties when work load dictates. Performs miscellaneous duties as required to provide an even and timely flow of work from Production.

    • Ensures conformance to all aspects of the ISO 14001 standard and Construction Specialties' Environmental Management System (EMS), including its environmental policy while performing job functions that may have a significant impact on the environment.

    • Performs other duties assigned by management

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION: (Minimum Education and/or Experience required)

    • 2-year technical degree; experience instead of a degree will be considered

    • Experience with ERP systems

    • Knowledge of shop orders and manufacturing routings / processes

    • Knowledge of production planning field

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Good interpersonal skills

    • AS400 / BPCS experience a plus

    • Computer literacy, Strong in Excel spreadsheets

    • Customer Focused
