Project Accountant

Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Project Accountant to join our client based in the Lancaster, PA area. The Construction Project Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.

• Develop project budgets in collaboration with project managers, providing accurate cost estimates and financial projections.

• Monitor project expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize project profitability.

• Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including project cost reports, cash flow statements, and variance analyses.

• Review and analyze construction contracts, identifying key financial terms and obligations.

• Evaluate and process change orders, assessing the financial impact on project budgets and schedules.

• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to track invoices, payments, and billing discrepancies.

• Handle the completion of AIA forms, waivers, and retainage proficiently.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting related position; construction industry experience preferred.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
